With SeeLab® GP150, the spectrocolorimetry eventually meets its commitments in the measument of colors with effects.

On the production line of your product, any Quality Control out of tolerances has consequences: deadline extension of putting conformity, cost of material to be added, even waste of production time if the correction fails. To eliminate these risks and enable you to produce right, SeeLab® has designed the gonio-spectrophotometer GP150.

Based on a lighting (0° to 45°) thoroughly new and a measurement under 13 different angles (from -65° to +65°), the SeeLab® GP150 equipment gives you necessary and sufficient information to identify colors with effects such as metallic and pearlescent paints, or smooth and structured colors like in the cosmetics or packaging products. Ergonomic, portable, it is THE tool, essential to Quality Control, Correction and Color-matching for all your color ranges.

1 - A precise and reliable measurement

Either for a metallic paint, a cosmetic product or a pearlescent color, SeeLab® GP150 provides you with the reliable measurement you expected. No need to average several measurements to insure the repeatability of the action: SeeLab® GP150 is so objective that it introduces no dispersal.

Lighting at 0° for absolute measurement from -65° to +65°

The innovation is the result of a combination of several techniques, some being a real technological breakthrough as far as the usual colorimetric tools are concerned. The SeeLab® GP150 is the only one to simulate a perfect correlation between instrumental measurement and visual sensation. This correlation consolidates the user when observing a “flop” produced by the orientation of the metallic particles.

Excellent answer, even on very low angle

This is made possible because SeeLab® GP150 uses technologies involving the very last generation sensors.

Auto-calibration

The SeeLab® GP150 has an internal standard reference and permanently re-calibrates all the measurements. This integrated calculation compensates for any optical, physical, calorific, atmospheric… i.e. drift.

The full specular measurement

The SeeLab® GP150 is the only equipment on the market to measure the color in a full specular, exactly where the gloss/brilliance dazzles the sensor. This innovation guarantees the consideration of all the energy included in the colorimetric measurement and no loss of BU points loss (Brilliance Unit).

2 - Ergonomic and easy to use

The SeeLab® GP150 is a portable and ergonomic device. Working on Lithium-Ion battery, equipped with a wide handle, it settles on your sample to be measured.

Equipped with a colored and digital 10cm LCD screen, it runs in a “stand-alone” way, or in a “remote” way thanks to a Wi-Fi wireless connection.

To facilitate the targeting, SeeLab® GP150 has a CCD camera positioned on the measurement axis: the image is shown on the LCD screen. It is then impossible to miss your target!

3 - A multi-use device

On your production lines, today you use three devices:

  • a mono angle equipment to measure the color
  • a multi-angle one to measure the “flop” effect and/or the color with effects
  • a gloss-meter to measure the brilliance/gloss

With SeeLab® GP150, you will realize all these operations with only one and unique device.

4 - Full downwards compatibility with devices of the market

Whatever the spectrometer you have used before (0°-45°, 45°-0° or multi-angle), SeeLab® GP150 offers you to reproduce any measurement cycle. Preserve with SeeLab® GP150 all your previous measurements, keep your history, your good practices, your know-how and raise it to the power of the right measurement.

5 - Spectrophotometric analysis

The SeeLab® GP150 is delivered with standardized illuminants and standardized colorimetric scales (L*a*b*C*h°, ΔE*). It may be connected to a computer fitted with the dedicated software GX. Three modules are available:

SEELAB GX QC

The Color Quality Control: whatever your colors are with or without effect, opaque/transparent or translucent, you will need to control it compared to a standard. You will need to quantify gaps in chromatic values (L*a*b*C*h°) whatever the selected angles measurement.

SEELAB GX MATCH

The Color-Matching and Correction in the laboratory: create your own database to characterize optical constants of all the colored raw materials (with or without effects) like varnish, solvent, pigments, aluminum, pearl… Then, start the matching by choosing optimal criteria (materials, metamerism, price, DE* regarding angles…). You could fix several physical criteria like UV resistance, pigment loading.

SEELAB GX PROD

The Quality Control with Integrated Correction on production lines: in addition to the previous one, this module integrates a batch management with a correction of batches including real produced quantities.

GX EFFECT specific add-on is combined to these three modules for color with effects.
